TSSAA Puts Marion Co Football Team on Probation and Suspends Two Coaches

Bad news for Marion County the day of their big game against South Pittsburg.
The TSSAA has put the Warriors on probation and fined the school $1,000.
Head coach Joey Mathis and assistant Tim Starkey met with a Grundy County student athlete last Saturday at the Marion County field house.
That’s considered a TSSAA recruiting violation.
Coach Mathis will now be suspended for next week’s game against Brainerd, while Starkey will be suspended the following week against Boyd Buchanan.
