Nursing Home car bomb suspect arrested in Bledsoe County
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WDEF) An exploding car in Franklin, Tennessee this weekend led the TBI to a home in Bledsoe County.
41-year old Mitchell Hunter Oakes was put on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s “Top Ten Most Wanted” list on Sunday after the incident on Saturday.
An explosive device was found in the car of an employee at the NHC Cool Springs Nursing Home as she headed home from her shift.
It failed to go off when she got into the car.
But Franklin Police say it could have been deadly, to both the intended victim and anyone nearby.
A bomb squad detonated the device in her car.
Franklin Police identified Oakes as the suspect, and he was placed on the Most Wanted list early Sunday.
Just hours later, around 9AM, ATF agents took him into custody at a home in Bledsoe County.
Franklin police say he faces an attempted first degree murder charge among others.
