DUI bill changes; prevents the loss of federal road money
(WDEF) – Governor Bill Haslam is thanking Lawmakers for acting quickly to prevent the loss of $60 million dollars in federal road money.
That comes after a special legislative session.
The federal government warned the state would lose that money if a new drunk driving law wasn’t repealed by October 1st.
That law had raised the blood alcohol content for drivers under the legal drinking age.
Lawmakers agreed to lower the limit back to point zero two percent for drivers under the age of 21.
