2 accused of human trafficking connected to escort service
ALABASTER, Ala. (AP) – Authorities in Shelby County have charged two men with human trafficking in connection with an escort service.
Alabaster police said in a news release that 52-year-old Jeffrey T. Langley and 35-year-old Sutton S. Burleigh were arrested Thursday.
Chief Curtis Rigney says the arrests came after investigators received information regarding an illegal escort service operating in Alabaster and surrounding areas.
Langley faces multiple charges including first-degree human trafficking. Burleigh is charged with one count of second-degree human trafficking.
Police said the investigation involved surveillance and intelligence gathering, but did not release further details.
It is unclear whether either suspect has an attorney.
