Woman charged with using dead person’s ID to get TennCare drugs
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A Hamilton County woman has been charged with TennCare fraud.
The OIG (Office of Inspector General) says 50 year old Angela Watson was using another person’s identity to get pharmacy benefits.
The other person was a deceased tennCare enrollee.
“TennCare healthcare insurance benefits are reserved for Tennesseans who are truly in need and this type of abuse isn’t tolerated,” Inspector General Kim Harmon said.
The charges are TennCare fraud, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and identity theft.
“We appreciate the healthcare providers, law enforcement officers and citizens who provide information about TennCare fraud.”
