Caretaker charged with punching disabled adult in the face

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department has charged a caretaker with assaulting a disabled adult.

The police report says Jovarrus Stegall worked for D&S Community Services and was assigned to care for the victim of the assault.

But a witness says Stegall punched the disabled adult in the face back in June at a home on Waconda Shore Drive.

The incident was reported in July to detectives and Adult Protective Services.

Stegall was arrested on Monday and charged with Assault and Abuse of an Impaired Adult.
