70 year old East Tennessee man lost at Glacier Gorge

BOULDER, Colorado (WDEF) – A southeast Tennessee man is the third hiker lost in the Rocky Mountain National Park this winter.

A search is underway Monday for 70 year old James Pruitt of Etowah.

Family members in our area say he was in the area last week and hasn’t been heard from since Thursday morning.

Over the weekend, two feet of snow has fallen and the trail is under an avalanche warning.

Overnight temperatures were 10 degrees below zero with a high of just 24 today.

Park Rangers found his vehicle in the Trailhead parking lot on Sunday.

A 20 year old and 30 year old have also been lost in the park since November.

Searches for both had been called off because of the weather.
