Christopher Padgett recaptured after running during his murder trial

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A man who fled during his murder trial earlier this month has been captured.

Local authorities picked up Christopher Padgett overnight.

He was convicted two weeks ago of killing a cab driver, but he wasn’t there to hear the sentence.

Padgett cut his ankle monitor and fled two days into the trial.

They continued on without him and convicted him.

Padgett was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Nathan Deere during a robbery in 2012.
