Southern Adventist student hit by vehicle in school zone
COLLEGEDALE, Tennessee (WDEF) – Collegedale Police are investigating the case of a college student hit by a vehicle this morning in a school zone.
It happened in the 4800 block of College Drive East between the SDA Church and Collegedale Academy Elementary School.
Police say the school zone lights were activated at the time just before 8 A-M.
Police say the Southern Adventist student was crossing the street at a crosswalk when hit by the vehicle.
The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to the hospital.
No one in the vehicle was injured.
“The Collegedale Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers to not only be on alert while driving through school zones, being mindful of their reduced speeds and any other distractions that would impair their driving abilities, but to also be vigilant while
approaching any crosswalks.”
They say charges could be issued in this case.
