Mocs Freshman QB Cole Copeland Has Over 500 Yards Passing in First Two Starts
Chattanooga-(WDEF) Before the Mocs season started, who would have guessed that true freshman Cole Copeland would have more playing time at quarterback than returning starter Alejandro Bennifield.
Copeland was forced to burn his redshirt with injuries at the quarterback position.
The former Bradley Central star has started the last two games, and he has thrown for over 500-yards for the 1-6 Mocs.
Said Copeland:”The only way to get really comfortable is just getting thrown in the fire. It’s hard to sit back and watch somebody else. You can learn from their mistakes, but until you are in the game or making your own mistakes, that’s when you really get comfortable. I just try to lead everybody and stay as positive as I can. I’m not really the type to quit, and I know our team is not like that, so we’re just going to rally and keep fighting.”
