Flipper Mountain Fire Update

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) – One third of the Flipper Bend Wildfire on Signal Mountain is now contained within the fire breaks.

The Tennessee Forestry Division says the Flipper Bend blaze has already consumed 230 acres of land.

30 firefighters are now battling the blaze, including some from the state of Nevada.

No homes or structures are in danger right now.

Residents will continue to see heavy smoke from this fire.

Forestry personnel are monitoring the wildfire throughout the night.
