UPDATE: Bus Hits Pedestrian

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- We have new information tonight, after a man is struck by a Hamilton county school bus this afternoon.

It happened around 3:15 at 4903 Brainerd Road.

Chattanooga police say the bus was merging into the left turn lane approaching Moore Road.

Witnesses told investigators the pedestrian crossed in-between stopped vehicles traveling southbound outside the crosswalk.

The bus hit the man while in the turn lane.

Police say there were no children on the school bus and the driver, 29-year-old Waqueta Foster, was not hurt.

They say the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators aren’t releasing his name at this time.
