Titans Running Back Derrick Henry Returns to Practice
NFL beware.
Titans Rushing Giant Derrick Henry was back at practice Wednesday for the first time in two months after breaking a bone in his foot.
Henry had already racked up 900 yards rushing before suffering the injury at the end of October.
There’s always a buzz with the King around.
The Titans were certainly glad to have rushing king Derrick Henry back on the practice field.
Said quarterback Ryan Tannehill:”It’s exciting to get him back out there. Obviously he has put in a lot of work to get to this point. It has been awhile. No doubt it’s exciting to get him back out there. We’ll see what he can do.”
Said defensive back Kevin Byard:”But obviously having the King back will be great for everybody. Be great for our offense as well, especially how defenses are going to try to defend us.”
Now it’s just a matter of if he’ll be ready to go Sunday against Houston.
Said head coach Mike Vrabel:”Just to see how he responds and ask him to start doing some of those things that he is going to need to do in a football game.”
Said offensive lineman Taylor Lewan:”Derrick being out there. It’s nice to have Derrick as kind of a special player that he is. And when he’s out there playing a game, we’ll be very lucky to have him. But for right now, we’ve got to focus on winning this game this week.”
And that’s what Coach Vrabel’s focus is, especially after so many questions about Henry.
Said Vrabel:”Anything on the Texans?”
Maybe. Just maybe. The titans are getting healthy…just in time for the playoffs.
Said Tannehill:”You know it has been a tough year as far as who has been in and who has been out. And we’ve overcome a lot of adversity and found ways to win games, but we haven’t played a whole lot of games where we’ve had all of our firepower and been able to put it all together. So hopefully as the season finishes up. There’s no magic dust or magic formula if you insert a guy it’s just going to happen. You have to go out and make it happen and execute and make the plays when they arise.”
