UPDATE: Police pursuit ends with arrest of convicted felons

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police, ATF, and the FBI were involved in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle Monday evening that started at 5200 Highway 58 and ended at 2200 Monroe Street.

During the pursuit, police say the stolen vehicle was involved in 3 crashes during the pursuit. The third crash occurred when the driver lost control and went into a ditch on Monroe Street.

Officials says the two suspected were extracted from the vehicle and taken into custody; both are convicted felons.

Police found two weapons in the vehicle.

The two suspects have been identified by Chattanooga Police as 25 year old Marquis McReynolds -who was driving – and 23 year old Jermichael Brooks.

Chattanooga Police say a police vehicle in the pursuit was also involved in the final crash and minor damage to civilian vehicles struck by the suspect vehicle occurred during the pursuit.

Charges against McReynolds and Brooks include Evading Arrest, Narcotics, Weapons and Auto Theft, according to police.

Federal charges are being pursued on both suspects.


Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) — A police chase Monday evening ends when a car runs off the road and into a ditch.

The suspect led Chattanooga Police on a chase from Bonnie Oaks Drive to Monroe Street.

The suspect vehicle was forced into a ditch where the driver was arrested.

No injuries have been reported.
