CPD Does a Neighborhood Line up At Hamilton County Mall

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)-  Chattanooga Police officers assigned to Charlie sector hosted a public line up at the Hamilton Place Mall.

This neighborhood line up is meant to show the public that the officers in each sector of the city is present and in the community.

Officials say these type of line ups deter crime from areas and promotes community awareness of police presence in the neighborhoods.

“When the officers are here for line up there will be a larger concentration of officers than perhaps the community is used to seeing in one place and it will show that the officers are out in the community, it will show that that businesses support the officers and we also get to have great interaction with community members.”

CPD has already done three more of these in Highland Park, East and North Chattanooga as well.
