Investigators arrest juveniles for stealing a truck in Catoosa County
They say the owner left it running to warm up, when thieves struck
RINGGOLD, Georgia (WDEF) – A Chevy Silverado truck was stolen in Catoosa County over the weekend. The owner was warming up his vehicle when it was stolen by a group of juveniles.
After stealing the truck, the kids took pictures of themselves with the victim’s phone. The photos then uploaded to the victim’s Google Drive.
Captain Jeremy Keener with the Sheriff’s Office tells us “While they’re going down the road, they’re videoing themselves in the vehicle. They take photos, later, of all of themselves. So, we do a Facebook post showing the vehicle that was stolen as well as the photos we received from the victim.”
The car thieves have been arrested and may be linked to other auto thefts in the area. Keener warns that there has been a recent rise in car thefts in the area.
If you’re going to leave your car running while you’re indoors, make sure that it’s locked.
