Rock slide closes lane to Little River Canyon Falls on Lookout Mountain

DEKALB COUNTY, Alabama (WDEF) – A rock slide has shut down a lane of highway 35 up Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama.

The slide happened near the Little River Canyon Falls on the eastern side of the mountain around 10 AM.

Traffic was reduced to just one lane this afternoon.

The Alabama Department of Transportation does not yet have a timeline for when the road will be re-opened.
