Mocs Putting Emphasis on Running Game in Spring Practice

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Chattanooga Mocs are putting a lot of emphasis on their running game this spring. UTC struggled with their ground game last season. Chattanooga failed to rush for a thousand yards as a team in 2017, finishing with 859 yards. UTC returns Alex Trotter in the backfield, and they signed several big backs like Tyrell Price. Head coach Tom Arth believes the rushing attack will be better.

Said Arth:”The big thing is just the mentality that we are continuing to try to develop within our offense of how we run the football. The ways that we like to play within that. Certainly having Tyrell here is a big difference. Much bigger back than we have had the last year. There’s two things that help your quarterback, and that’s playing great defense number one, and second is having a great running game. Keep improving in the run game and eventually get to the point where we feel very, very confident in our ability to run the ball.”
