North Carolina man accused of rape in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A North Carolina man stands accused or raping a woman he met online in Chattanooga.

Andre Barrow, 25, of Autryville North Carolina has been charged with one count of rape that occurred on August 18.

According to the arrest report, the victim told police she met a man named Dre on Facebook earlier that morning. She told police the two of them were communicating back and forth throughout the day before planning to meet at the Covenant Hotel and having dinner together. .

According to the report, after she arrived at the hotel, Barrow began making advances toward her. He reportedly held her down, stripped her clothes off then raped her.

The woman stated to investigators that she repeatedly told Barrow to stop but he wouldn’t.

The victim was later taken to the Rape Crisis Center where a physical examination confirmed that a rape had occurred.

Barrow was identified through a photo on his drivers license.

A judge set Barrow’s bond at $150,000 and his next court date is set for September 15.
