Ooltewah Plane Crash Claims Pilot’s Life
A pilot is dead following a small plane crash in Ooltewah.
Police say the pilot was flying from Knoxville to Jackson Mississippi but crashed in an industrial park around 3:20.
No one else was on board.
The FAA is working with medical examiners to get an identification on the pilot.
They’re continuing to investigate how it happened.
Nearby BBQ worker Leah Witener says she heard the crash.
"We heard kind of like a loud crash thing, but we didn’t really think anything about it, until we heard the sirens go down and whenever we saw all the cops and the green fire truck we were like okay this is something big."
Police expect to have a positive in the coming days.
