Golden Apple: Debi Kidd
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Debi Kidd challenges her students, but is also known as a caring, and kind person.
The Alpine Crest Elementary School teacher helps kids earn prizes for good grades, and even involves parents in the learning process.
Kindergarten Teacher Jeannie Henry knows what a difference she has made at the school.
“Everybody loves Miss Kidd. Miss Kid treats her children in her classroom like they are her own, her very own. And she goes out of her way to do all that she can to make their day extra special.”
Debi Kidd says she always wanted to be a teacher, because the teachers she had as a child served as role models.
“I think I’m a very responsible person. I think I’m very caring and I think that’s why I became a teacher. I feel like my whole life I felt like God had called me to teach kids. And we only have kids for a certain amount of time. But the time that we do have with them, we have to mold them and do our best to get them where they need to go in life.”
Congratulations to Debi Kidd for winning this week’s Golden Apple Award.
