Alvey goes on trial for hit an run death at thrift store
DAYTON, Tennessee (WDEF) – A 54 year old Rhea county man is on trial today for the September 2016 hit and run death of a Dayton thrift store employee.
Douglas Alvey is charged with first degree murder in the death of Walter Hale, an employee at the “We Care Thrift Store”.
Prosecutors say Alvey ran over Hale with his car and left the scene.
A Sequatchie county jury is hearing the case.
It will be sequestered for the rest of the trial.
