Cleveland State Ends Chatt State’s Softball Season

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The Cleveland State softball team beat rival Chattanooga State 4-2 as the two teams clashed in the loser’s bracket of the Region VII tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Chatt State. The loss ended the season for Chattanooga State, who entered the tournament as the number one seed. The Lady Cougars got a grand slam from Cortney Mooneyham in the bottom of the third to make it 4-0. The Lady Tigers answered with a 2-run homer to center in the top of the fourth from Kiley Longmire. Cleveland State then held on for the 4-2 win to put Chatt State out of the tournament. Then the Lady Cougars lost to Walters State 5-1 for the Region championship.
