Gordon Lee Baseball Sweeps Charlton Co to Advance to State Final Four

Chickamauga, GA-(WDEF-TV) Gordon Lee swept Charlton Co 9-0 and 4-1 on Friday in Chickamauga to advance to the final four round of the state baseball playoffs. In the second contest, the Trojans took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second on an RBI single from Will Sizemore. Charlton Co scored a run on a ground-out in the bottom of the third to tie the game at one.

Stay tied at one until the top of the sixth inning. Hunter Hodson led off the inning with a base hit to right. The ball got under the glove of the right fielder and as Hodson rounded first, he collided with the first baseman. Hodson got up and went to second. Trojans coach Mike Dunfee asked if Hodson should be awarded third since he was interfered with on the base paths, and the umps granted Hodson third base. Hodson then scored on an RBI single from Caleb Hopkins to make it 2-1. Later in the sixth with the bases loaded, Will Sizemore pulled one down the left field line that landed fair. Two runs scored to make it 4-1, and the Trojans went on to get the 4-1 victory to head to the final four.
