Lookouts Skipper Excited by Talent of Short Stop Matthew McClain
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The curtain goes up on the Chattanooga Lookouts season tonight.
The Lookies are on the road against the Tennessee Smokies.
So which Chattanooga player might we see shine under the bright lights this season. How bout short stop Matthew McClain. He was the Reds first round draft pick last summer, and Lookouts manager Jose Moreno is already singing his praises.
Said Moreno:”You know he’s an exciting player. He’s quiet, but for some reason at 7:15, he’s another different player. He has the speed around the bases. He has the power. Plus arm. Baseball IQ. He’s a great player.”
Reporter:”He has got power too?”
Said Moreno:”Absolutely. Yesterday he hit the first one over the scoreboard in live BP. (laughter)
Reporter:”What does he eat man? How does he get that power?”
Said Moreno:”I don’t know. I don’t know. Maybe peanut butter and jelly. That’s all in the minor leagues.”
(laughter)
