Markus Naglestad Set CFC Record With Four Goals in One Game
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) CFC’s Markus Naglestad got the hat trick..and beyond last week in Chattanooga’s road win over Flower City.
Dude set a club record by scoring four goals in one game.
Reporter:”Were you aware that that’s the most goals in CFC history in one match?”
Said Naglestad:”I didn’t know. I mean the club has been around since 2009. Played in the NPSL. They blew out some teams there. I wasn’t sure. Four goals gives you a good chance right? Yeah.”
Said head coach Rod Underwood:”Well I mean to score one goal in a professional soccer match. You see the scores around the world right? Not a lot of goals. So to get four is a special thing. Soccer is kind of like dancing right? Everyone is doing their moves and certain things.”
Reporter:”If soccer is like dancing, what kind of dancer is Markus?”
Said Underwood:(chuckles)”I don’t know. Ballroom dancer how bout that. He’ll like that.” (laughter)
(music rolls)
Said Naglestad:”Third goal. I played a one touch pass to Brett who did a good job. Made a good turn and then played me through. And the finish wasn’t too complicated really. Just find the bottom corner. Yeah.”
Reporter:”Were you surprised at all that he did it?”
Said Underwood:”I’m never surprised right? We train things. You know the way we play. Create chances. It’s up to the players to take their opportunities when they get those moments.”
Said Naglestad:”Usually you get the match ball usually if you score a hat trick. Um. I didn’t bring it home.”
Reporter:”He didn’t get it.”
Said Underwood:”Yeah it was their ball.” (laughter)
Reporter:”Is give goals now the new goal for you?”
Said Naglestad:”No. No. I mean I wouldn’t mind it. I’m just. Every time I go on the pitch, I’m trying to score one.”
Reporter:”Do you say hey can you do that again?”
Said Underwood:”Of course right? The expectation is to keep raising the standard right.”
