Chattanooga wants you help to improve city parks
How you can take part online or in person
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – City officials have begun a drive to get the public involved in shaping Chattanooga’s park system for years to come.
There are several steps you can take right now to shape the plan.
— read up on what they are doing online
— check out the StoryMap to see where the parks are and how they are connected
— take the online survey on how you use parks and how you would like to use them.
— come to the workshop Wednesday June 8, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center for in person interaction
— check out their Meeting In A Box online, so you can hold your own community meeting without them
The city is reconsidering their Park Plan and will spend the rest of the year getting the community involved.
“While our unrivaled outdoor spaces are the envy of the country, we know that our current park system falls short of providing equitable access and meaningful outdoor connectivity for all Chattanoogans,” said Mayor Tim Kelly. “Residents who add their voice to the city’s new parks and outdoors plan can play a role in the path forward where all neighborhoods have well-loved and well-used green spaces that showcase the beauty of our ‘Scenic City.’”
