Lawyer Appeals Decision to Let Sharrock on Ballot
FORT OGLETHORPE, GA (WDEF-TV) – Former Fort Oglethorpe City Councilman Charles Sharrock is on the ballot to run for his old seat, But even if he were to win, he faces another legal hurdle.
City council members removed Sharrock two years ago amidst sexual harassment allegations.
But the county elections supervisor Orma Luckey decided he was eligible to run for his old seat.
Now attorney Stuart James filed an appeal in Superior court.
James asked he be barred from the seat, even if he wins.
STUART JAMES, ATTORNEY "We had 10 days to appeal her rulings..so what happened is a lawsuit to appeal the ruling and we just said it like it was. Orma Luckey was biased and prejudiced..she didn’t allow us to put on witnesses. She didn’t allow us to cross examine Sharrock and he shouldn’t be on the ballot..he should be removed from the ballot."
