Local songwriting non-profit benefiting veterans holds performance

Local non-profit Freedom Sings USA held a show at Edley’s Bar-B-Que this weekend where they showcased original songs written by veterans.

Freedom Sings’ mission is to help veterans, military personnel, and their families throughout the country reach emotional balance by telling their stories through the creative process of songwriting.

Al Jarvis with freedom sings said he chooses to participate with the Freedom Sings non-profit because he feels music is the best medicine.

“I will be doing songs today written for our veterans and with our veterans. All the songs that I will be doing today are true stories that the veterans have told us and they’ve given us permission to use this music you know to help promote freedom sings,” Jarvis said.

Freedom Sings USA holds weekly ongoing classes on Wednesday mornings and Thursday nights at their Chattanooga location.
