Car Catches on Fire Causing Damage to Hixson Home

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- A car caught fire causing damage to a home in Hixson late Monday evening, July 26. According to the Chattanooga Fire Department, firefighters responded to a call at 7:28 PM of a house fire on Metro Park Lane. This is just off of Norcross Road in Hixson.

A family was at home when they heard what sounded like an explosion. They quickly discovered that their car had caught on fire next to their house.

The family quickly evacuated as the fire spread to the attic of the home. Crews were able to put out the fire quickly, and the home sustained minimal damage.
