Police charge convenience stores with selling marijuana products

LAFAYETTE, Georgia (WDEF) – A north Georgia drug task force is cracking down on marijuana sales in the region.

A Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force investigation discovered that several misleading packages they sold were, indeed, marijuana products.

The illegal substances were packaged in containers saying they were legal in in all 50 states.

They also said the ingredient “CBD” had been lab tested.

The stores were in four counties, Chattooga, Dade, Walker and Catoosa.

Two store owners have been arrested so far.

They are Risilkumar Patel of Rossville and Tanjot Bajwa of Fort Oglethorpe.

The task force warns consumers that products claimg to have “No THC,” “CBD,” or “Hemp Flower” may actually contain marijuana.

So they are illegal to buy or distribute.
