Private school staff charged with solicitation of teen

One also charged with sexual assault by an authority figure

ATHENS, Tennessee (WDEF) – Authorities in McMinn County say two staff members of a private school near Athens have been arrested on sexual assault charges.

46-year-old Jason Kennedy is facing two counts of Sexual Assault by an Authority Figure and one count of Solicitation of a Minor.

28-year-old Brittany Branham is charged with one count of Solicitation of a Minor.

Officials say Kennedy and Branham were both on the staff at Liberty Christian School.

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy said an investigation began after receiving a complaint about incidents that took placing involving school staff members.

Guy said the case currently involves a single juvenile female, but added that if there are other victims to reach out to the sheriff’s office.
