Water disruption coming Saturday in Lupton City area

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Residents along Hixson Pike at Lupton Drive can expect low water pressure on Saturday morning.

Tennessee American Water is switching over to the new pipe they have been installing for the last few weeks.

The switchover should take from 9 AM til 1 PM.  After that, you should be able to run the COLD water tap until the water is clear and you are good to go.

The new 600 feet of pipe replaces the old one dating back to the 1950s.

Some roadwork will continue for a few weeks to cover it up.

“We apologize for the disruption in service,” said Tennessee American Water engineering manager Kurt Stafford. “We know residents rely on their water service in their daily lives. We chose to do this in Saturday to avoid disrupting the neighborhood school schedules on a weekday.”
