Cleveland Police locate stolen Chattanooga Public Works vehicle
CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Cleveland Police Department has located a stolen Chattanooga Public Works vehicle and detained a suspect.
According to the Cleveland Police Department, Chattanooga Police called the 911 Center in Cleveland on Saturday morning around 8:20 a.m. and said a City of Chattanooga Public Works vehicle with GPS tracking had been stolen.
Cleveland Police say they found the vehicle on Fulbright Road in front of an apartment.
Officials say officers made contact with Evan Elmore as he exited the apartment and he was detained.
During a pat down, Cleveland police say “a bag of green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana was discovered” in his pocket.
Elmore taken to the Bradley County Justice Center and was booked on a charge of Simple Possession, according to the Cleveland Police Department.
Cleveland Police also say charges are pending in Chattanooga for theft of an auto and burglary of a business.
The stolen truck was released to the Chattanooga Police Department.
