Mocs Expect Physical Challenge Against Eastern Illinois
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Mocs hit the road Saturday against Eastern Illinois. Chattanooga beat the Panthers back in 20-19 in the season opener. Marked the debut of head coach Rusty Wright. Totally new team Mocs will obviously face this time. When the words physical and challenge are echoed about the Panthers, you know this year’s game should be a dog fight.
Said Wright:”They’re very physical. I was really surprised when I turned the film on and watched them against Northern Illinois. They got a transfer running back. I think he’s from Purdue. He’s a big dude. 230 pounds. Runs hard. They’re big up-front. Bigger than what we just played. It’ll be a different set of challenges we’ll have.”
Said tight end Jay Gibson:”They have a real physical front seven. Their linebackers like to play downhill. They’ve got a really skilled secondary, so it’s going to be a tough challenge for us.”
Game kicks at 7pm Saturday in Charleston, Illinois.
