Silverdale Baptist Academy hires full time security officer

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Silverdale Baptist Academy has hired their version of an SRO.

The private, Christian school has hired a full-time armed security officer.

Retired Chattanooga Police Lieutenant CL Willhoit was on the job for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 8th.

He served 29 years with the CPD and another 16 with the Hamilton County Sherrif’s Department.

“He and Director of Safety Mr. Tommy Kennedy have been strategically visiting with classes and interacting with all of our students, demonstrating the strong presence of a safety-minded community here at Silverdale.”
