Fire erupts in Red Bank duplex
The call came in shortly after 1 PM. 15-minutes later, Red Bank firefighters were calling for mutual aid to battle a blaze inside a duplex in the 200 block of Cliftview Drive.
WDEF spoke to a woman who was inside the apartment that caught on fire. She wished not to be identified but said she was sleep when she woke up smoke filling the apartment. She immediately left the apartment and banged on door of Ed Stone who is her next door neighbor.
"I heard my neighbor run out her door. She came beating on mine and said there was fire. I stuck my head out and saw flames coming out her front window. the glass was breaking. I grabbed my C02 fire extinguisher but I couldn’t get close enough tot do anything with that. I grabbed the garden hose and started putting down water then the fire department showed up," Stone said.
Fortunately there were no injuries to report.
The fire remains under investigation.
