A former Whitfield County teacher pleads guilty to sexual assault

Dalton, GA (WDEF & DDC) – A former Coahulla Creek High School teacher plead guilty Friday to sexual assault by a person with supervisory and disciplinary authority.

The Dalton Daily Citizen is reporting that Elizabeth Scroggs was sentenced to 10 years probation after having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old student.

She will not serve any jail time or register as a sex offender.

She won’t be allowed to work in a supervisory position over anyone under 16-years-old.

If Scroggs completes her probation, her record will be wiped clean.
