The Lookouts’ offense wasted no time getting ahead, with Nick Northcut smashing a two-run homer in the first inning to give his team an early lead. They continued to build on this lead in the second inning with a Jose Torres RBI single and a run scored on a wild pitch. Northcut contributed again in the third inning, leading off with a double, followed by consecutive walks that loaded the bases for Bubba Thompson, who delivered a two-run single.
Although Rocket City managed to score runs in the fourth and fifth innings, Kevin Abel, supported by reliever Owen Holt, effectively shut down their comeback attempts. Chattanooga secured their seventh run in the sixth inning when Francisco Urbaez hammered a home run off the scoreboard.
