Addie Porter Brings Bulldog Mentality to the Mocs
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) It’s March first.
Let the March Madness begin.
Seems the madness is always there for Mocs freshman guard Addie Porter.
UTC hopes to unleash her aggressive style in the SoCon tournament this week.
If Katie Burrows needs a spark for her team, she knows Addie Porter can ignite it.
Said head coach Katie Burrows:”She’s a Bulldog. She’s tough. Mentally. She’s tough physically. She ain’t ever gonna quit, so we need players like that on the court.”
Said forward Abbey Cornelius:”How would I describe Addie Grace Porter? She is a firecracker. (laughs) I don’t know how many times she has been on the ground every game, but I think she’s a little more bruised up than she thought she’d be this season.”
Sometimes Porter’s aggression worries Coach Burrows.
Take Tuesday’s practice. Apparently Porter tried to re-enact what happened before her interview.
Said Porter:”Ball was going out-of-bounds over here to the chairs, and I jumped to save the ball, and then jumped over the chairs and kind of dove into the bleachers a little bit. I actually caught myself, and I was fine.”
Maybe there needs to be a sign at Mocs practice.
Beware of dog.
Said Burrows:”I’m serious. You’ll have to have her bark on camera. She’ll do it.”
Reporter:”Can you bark like a dog for us?”
Said Porter:”Can I bark like a dog? It’s just like a little woof. Woof. Woof.” (laughs)
Reporter:”What does that do for you?”
Said Porter:”Me and Destiny have a little thing that gets us hyped up. We bark at each other sometimes. Big plays. We say big dog, and we bark at each other.”
Reporter:”What kind of dog do you like imagine yourself as?”
Said Porter:”I don’t know. What type of dogs are there? What would y’all say? Anne says a Rottweiler, so I guess that.”
Reporter:”Those dogs are mean.”
Said Porter:”Oh. I mean on the floor. Just on the floor. Not in real like though.” (chuckles)
