Aeromexico plane suffers “accident” in Durango, Mexican officials say

MEXICO CITY — An Aeromexico airliner suffered an “accident” Tuesday in Mexico’s northern state of Durango, Mexican officials said. Gov. Jose Rosas Aispuro wrote on Twitter that there are no official reports of deaths or injuries yet. 

An airline official told Mexican television the plane had 97 passengers and four crew members on board. The flight covers the route between Mexico City and Durango.

The civil defense office of Durango state says Tuesday’s accident occurred in a field near the airport for the state capital, which is also named Durango. A reporter for the news outlet Milenio said some passengers had survived and walked to a highway to seek help.
