Airport Sets New Passenger Record

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Chattanooga Airport broke its all-time passenger record in 2025, serving 632,384 travelers, a 14 percent increase from the year before.

Airport President and CEO April Cameron says the growth reflects more residents choosing to fly out of Chattanooga.

Cameron says passengers consistently point to convenience, low-cost parking, fast TSA security lines, and strong customer service as the top reasons they choose CHA over larger airports.

Since Cameron became president and CEO in 2023, passenger traffic has increased more than 41 percent, making CHA one of the fastest-growing small hub airports in the country.

To support the growth, Cameron says the airport broke ground in 2025 on a nearly $35 million, four-story parking garage that will add about 1,600 parking spaces.

The airport is also building the BlueCross Healthy Place, a 4.5-acre World War II aviation-themed park and playground that will restore public plane-watching access lost after Sept. 11, 2001.

The park is expected to open in summer 2026.

Cameron says the expansions, along with new nonstop destinations and strong airline partnerships, position the airport to continue serving as a key economic driver for the region.
