Alabama escapee is from Bridgeport
He was serving 20 years at a prison in southern Alabama
SCOTTSBORO, Alabama (WDEF) – Law Enforcement officials in our area are on the lookout for a man who escaped from a prison in Southern Alabama.
48 year old Johnny Lewis Payne got away from the Elba Community Based Facility early Thursday morning.
But he is from Bridgeport and was arrest in Jackson County in 2012.
Payne was serving a 20 year sentence for receiving stolen property.
He was wanted for not showing up to court, and the Jackson County Sheriff found a stolen car in his barn.
