Alabama Governor Reviews Pipeline Leak & Repair Plans

Helena, AL (WDEF/AP) Alabama Governor Robert Bentley toured Colonial Pipeline’s emergency response center last night.

It’s located about 12 miles from the pipeline breach that’s causing gas supply issues across the Tennessee Valley.

The spill sent hundreds of thousands of gallons of gasoline pouring into a retention pond at the site of an old mine.

Environmentalist David Butler says no fuel made it into a nearby river.

Bentley says more than 700-people are working to find the leak — and monitor the environment.

Highly flammable vapors kept pipeline workers, firefighters, and investigators from the site for the first few days after it was discovered.
