Alabama lawmakers tackle vaping and kids apps

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (WDEF) – Lawmakers in Alabama are dealing with varying issues from App Stores to Vaping.

The House has passed an App Store Accountability Act.

It would force them to sort children into age categories when new accounts are set up for them.

The goal is to give parents greater control over what their kids download.

They could even set up links that let them approve or deny downloads.

The bill now goes to the Alabama Senate.

Another bill would extend smoking bans in Alabama to also cover vaping.

A state senator wants to add language to the Clean Indoor Air Act.

It would add “the use of an electronic nicotine delivery system” to the definition of smoking.

Senator Gerald Allen says the change was inspired by someone vaping near him at a University of Alabama game.
