Alabama man arrested for child torture, authorities say

DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WDEF) — A Sylvania man is behind bars for child torture, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Tracy Lee Ray, Jr., 30, on Thursday.

The sheriff’s office said he is charged with child abuse, “torture/willful.”

Authorities did not release much information due to the sensitivity of the case.

However, he is currently booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center. A judge has not set his bond yet.

“Situations involving our children are so hard on everyone involved,” Sheriff Nick Welden said. “I would like to thank our investigations and DHR for taking care of this so quickly and always making our children a top priority.”
