Amari Jefferson Always Does “Magic Things” on the Field For Baylor
Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) No matter whether he’s on the baseball diamond or the football field, Baylor’s Amari Jefferson has SEC level talent.
News 12’s Brian Armstrong recently spoke with the talented wide receiver as the Red Raiders prepare for the State Championship game.
Said head coach Eric Kimrey:”I mean just give him the ball and he does magic things. I’ve never been around a guy that’s a smooth as he is.”
Baylor Head Coach Eric Kimrey could do nothing by sing high praises for Wide receiver Amari Jefferson.
Said Kimrey:”On the high school level I have not been around a guy that operates as smoothly as he does he has elite speed and hands and athleticism. He’s a tremendous asset to our school not just as a football player but also as a student and a human being.
Jefferson seemingly fills the highlight reel with explosive big plays, particular when his team needs it most including the game winning TD against McCallie.
Said:”We were just trying to get a first down no one really knew that I would turn to that. I just got it and saw a crease and scored a touchdown.”
It’s really only his second full year of playing the position of wide receiver. He has been a quarterback his whole career. I mean the sky is the limit.
When my team needs a big play, just try to make one, but there’s a lot of big plays I’ve been happening for different people so it’s a collective effort
He’s been locked in all year in terms of wanting to get better and watching film. Try to perfect his craft and he’s gonna be a lot of fun to watch the rest of this year next year and then on Saturdays.
Multiple schools including Tennessee and Georgia are recruiting Jefferson to come play football.
Said Jefferson:”I was meeting with Kirby Smart he was talking to me and my family and I was like dang you look bigger in person it’s kind of funny.”
And he is already committed to Tennessee for Baseball.
