Amber Alert for 23 month old kidnapped on Boy Scout Road

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The TBI is issuing a statewide Amber Alert for a 23 month old child taken today on Boy Scout Road.

It began with a traffic stop this afternoon at the intersection with Dayton Pike.

A woman, her two year old granddaughter and a man were inside.

The deputy asked the man to hold the child in the shade near the car while they talked to the female driver because she had warrants.

But he took off with the child.

He is identified as 37 year old Matias Martinez from Massachusetts.

He has black hair, brown eyes, 5’11” 185 lbs.

Authorities has issued a kidnapping warrant for his arrest.

Octavia is a 23 month old girl with black hair, brown eyes, 2’00”, and 30 lbs.

She was last seen wearing a blue dress.

“The sheriff’s office wants to reiterate that we are doing everything in our power along with those of our partners to locate Shaw safely and return her to her family,” Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Manager Matt Lea said.
