American Heart Association organizes “Go Red for Women” event
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The American Heart Association organized a special “Go Red for Women” luncheon today.
The American Heart Association says heart disease is the number one killer of women. This was the message organizers spread at the luncheon.
The annual “Go Red for Women” event celebrates female survivors of heart disease. It also educates the public on heart issues.
Free health screenings were provided, as well as a fashion show featuring boutiques around the Chattanooga area.
“With men, we recognize this, it’s talked about a lot…but not taking care of themselves…you love your wife, you love your mother, you love your sister…and we need to raise awareness in that fact” said Chad Deal, MD.
