American Queen Voyages announces it is shutting down

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Rolling on the river, no more.

One might have seen the massive American Splendor Riverboat docked at Ross’s Landing over the Summer.

That beautiful boat took people on an eight-day cruise on the Tennessee River.

But that’s over now.

American Queen Voyages is shutting down. All future cruises have been cancelled.

AQV posted this notice on their website:

“Despite great efforts by our team, crew and partners, American Queen Voyages (AQV) unfortunately has been unable to rebound from the effects of the pandemic. The overnight cruise industry was especially affected by changes in travel preferences and, as a result, AQV has become financially unstable.”

Customers with upcoming cruises are urged to apply for refunds through the American Queen Voyages website.
